Pasta with tuna sauce

I think that I got this recipe from elementary school. Maybe it was my brother.
It was many years ago, but I still make it.
My kids love pasta and can probably eat pasta every day (I can).
We like whole wheat pasta and it tastes good with this sauce, but you can use what ever pasta you prefer.
Amina, my middle child, made this by herself (see picture – the plate). I just helped her with the oven.
Amina used fusilli and I used penne (when I wrote this recipe).
So if you are up for it, give the recipe to your kid.

Pasta with tuna sauce

Kid friendly pasta dish

Equipment

  • Big pot (pasta)
  • Little pot (sauce)
  • Chopping board and a knife
  • Colander
  • Oven proof dish

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g whole wheat pasta
  • 200 g grated mozzarella

Sauce

  • 1 onion medium
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 2 tsp curry powder
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 2 cans tuna in water
  • 100 ml milk
  • 3 tsp tomato puré
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions
 

Pasta

  • Boil the pasta according to instructions.
  • Drain and transfer to an oven proof dish.

Sauce

  • Add the curry powder and paprika, and stir fry 1 min.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 10 min on low heat.
  • Season with salt.

The dish

  • Add the sauce on top of the pasta and then the cheese.
  • Transfer to oven (200°C fan) and heat until the cheese is melted, 10-15 min.
